Business : Saturday Boomfest wine tasting to include wines available at L Marie Boutique

BOOMTOWN is a blast! But so is BOOMFEST, an Arts and Crafts Show featuring local and regional vendors. Fireside Winery (www.firesidewinery.com), based out of Marengo, will be in downtown Vinton, on Saturday with their locally grown and handcrafted wines for sample and sale.

Fireside Winery has consistently been recognized with Gold Medals and Best-in-Class awards in regional, national, and international wine competitions. Fireside wines capture the finest qualities of Midwestern grapes and produces complex and easy to drink wines.

Owners, Bill and Rona Wyant constructed the winery a little more than five years ago. And during this time Fireside Winery production has increased from approximately 3,000 gallons to nearly 15,000 gallons (75,000 bottles or 6,200 cases) annually.

Pouring for Fireside Winery will be Assistant Winemaker, Brad Johnson, who is also editor and publisher of Winedustry, an online wine industry trade magazine (www.winedustry.com) dedicated to the nontraditional wine community.

Fireside Wines are available locally at L Marie Boutique (beginning this weekend), at area Hy-Vee stores, and in the Winery tasting room located between Williamsburg and Marengo (4 miles north of the outlet mall). Join us for live entertainment though September on Friday nights (7-10pm) and on Sunday (2-5pm) at the winery.
