4th STREET DINER NEWS 4th Street Diner HACAP North Benton Center 202 East Fourth St Vinton, IA 52349 319-472-4761 Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. On Monday, March 8th, there were four tables of Pepper Cards played. Frances Kelly won 1st place with 268 points. Merle Roths took 2nd place with 266 points. Ron Dawson won 3rd place with 255 points. LaVonne Henkle brought a cake to share. HACAP furnished beverages and other refreshments were provided by the card club. On Tuesday, March 9th, we celebrated the March birthdays. Arleon Schreiber, Milton Smith, Carl Edwards, Donna Hepker, Pauline Schminke, and Eldred Gerhold all celebrated their birthdays and brought guests. Stuart Gulick provided the afternoon entertainment. On Wednesday, March 10th, we welcomed John Gautier and Ron Geiger as guests. The activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Joy Baker handpicked the games of the day. Four corners and frame the free spot was chosen for game one and won by Mae Kerkman. Game two was the letter X and was won by Jacquie Winkler. Game three was champagne glass and was won by JoAnn Roster. Game four was a flag with Fern Lewis winning that one. Game five was Blackout and won by Jeanette Blazicek. On Thursday, March 11th, the activity was 10-Cent Bingo. The Bingo games of the day were handpicked by Ruth Wieditz. Game one was a stairstep and was won by Mae Kerkman. Game two was wild card 3 bingos with Don Dill and Mae Kerkman winning. Game three was a flag with Don Dill winning. Game four was a picnic table with Greta Geiken and Ruth Wieditz winning. Bingo ended with Blackout and Greta Geiken winning. On Friday, March 12th, there were 7 tables of 500 played. Marlys Finzen won 1st place with 4,450 points. Marge Smith won 2nd place with 3,940 points. LaVonne Henkle won 3rd place with 3,760 points. HACAP furnished beverages and other refreshments were provided by card club. On Monday, March 13th, there were 5 tables of Pepper Cards played. Merle Roths won 1st place with 298 points. Joy Baker won 2nd place with 271 points. Dora Vogt won third place with 264 points. Dora Vogt's daughter donated a cake. Refreshments were provided by the card club and HACAP provided beverages. On Tuesday, March 16th, the activity of the day was 10-Cent Bingo. Mae Kerkman won game one. Faye Goodell won game two. Ruth Wieditz won game three. Mae Kerkman won games four and five. On Wednesday, March 17th, Judy Mehlert provided the afternoon entertainment. On Thursday, March 18th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. The Bingo games of the day were handpicked by JoAnn Roster. Game one was the letter I and won by Faye Goodell. Game two was frame the card with Faye Goodell winning. Game three was wild number 3 bingo and won by JoAnn Roster and Elsie Knaack. Game four was a pyramid and won by JoAnn Roster. Game five was Blackout and won by Greta Geiken and Faye Goodell. On Friday, March 19th, there were 7 tables of 500 played. Carl Ritscher won 1st place with 3,160 points. Don Selken won 2nd place with 3,050 points. Dora Vogt won 3rd place with 2,780 points. Irene Geiger brought cookies to share and Angie Nolda brought cupcakes to share.
