I’m sure you are all packing as much fun and relaxation as possible into your Thanksgiving holiday weekend, but don’t forget the movie!
Back away from the turkey and dressing sandwich! Don’t take another bite of pie! It’s time for hot buttery popcorn, Milk Duds, and an icy cold soda!
“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” opens tonight for FIVE WEEKEND SHOWS ONLY – Friday, November 28 at 4 pm and 7 pm, Saturday, November 29 at 4 p m and 7 pm, and Sunday, November 30 at 7 pm. This PG-rated family show runs 82 minutes – perfect for even our youngest patrons.
Based on the popular children’s picture book by Judith Viorst, Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) has the worst day of his life and inadvertently wishes the same on the rest of his perfect family. His parents are portrayed by funny man Steve Carell, and romantic comedy star Jennifer Garner.
DEAR EDWINA
After Sunday’s show, we’ll raise the silver screen for production week rehearsals of ACT I’s endearing children’s musical, “Dear Edwina.” Directed by veteran stage actor and director, Steve Arnold, “Dear Edwina” is sweet, warm, and charming, filled with lively song and dance numbers and memorable tunes.
Twenty-six talented and enthusiastic young actors between the ages of 8 and 14 represent the area cities of Vinton, Shellsburg, Center Point, and Urbana. “Edwina” cast members have been working hard and really love the material they are performing.
Kids on stage – my favorite! I’m can’t wait to see this performance.
“Dear Edwina” will open next Friday, December 4 at 7 pm, and run Saturday, December 5 at 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday, December 6 at 7 pm.
More information and ticket reservations are available at www.act1.org.
ALEXANDER CONT.
Never fear, if you’re unable to make “Alexander” this weekend, we’ll finish the run on Sunday, December 6 through Thursday, December 10.
