Let go of your holiday stress with Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy!
“St. Vincent” plays the Palace Friday, December 12 through Thursday, December 18 at 7 pm, and Monday, December 15 at 2 pm. I promise you’ll leave the theatre with a great big smile on your face.
There is nothing not to like about this movie. The script is timeless, charming and funny, with both Murray and McCarthy in top form.
McCarthy’s character Maggie is a newly divorced single mom who needs all the help she can get. Even from her inappropriate, derelict neighbor, Vincent, played by Murray. With nowhere else to turn, Maggie must rely on Vincent to care for her quiet and sweet son, Oliver, after school.
Not good. Vincent enjoys the company of prostitutes, bartenders, and bookies, and doesn’t necessarily make Oliver’s health and moral wellbeing a high priority.
Those of you who fondly remember McCarthy from her Gilmore Girl days, know there is so much more to her than the over-the-top, slapstick, raunchy comedy of her recent films. Bill Murray, too, although, “Bridesmaids,” “Caddyshack,” and “Stripes” – classics.
This film is rated PG-13 for sex, violence, and language. If you don’t want your child to see Bill Murray in bed with a prostitute, get a sitter, and remind little Timmy or Susie that “Big Hero 6” is coming to the Palace in Santa’s sleigh!
