Spring has sprung at the Palace, with “Allegiant,” Red Cedar Chamber Music, our Sustaining Membership Raise the Roof Campaign, and the May Calendar.
Tris, portrayed by Shailene Woodley, is back in “The Divergent Series: Allegiant.”
Playing Friday, April 22 through Wednesday, April 27 at 7 pm, and Monday, April 25 at 2 pm, Tris, Four, and the gang finally get to see what’s over the wall surrounding futuristic Chicago.
Running two hours and rated PG-13 for intense violence and action, and some partial nudity, “Allegiant,” based on the sci fi young adult novel by Veronica Roth, is the third in this action-packed apocalyptic drama series.
RED CEDAR CHAMBER MUSIC presents MUSIC & MAGIC LANTERNS
Red Cedar Chamber Music takes the stage, Thursday, April 28 at 7 pm.
Music & Magic Lanterns is a multi-media concert, much like an entertainment and cultural experience you would have seen in the early 20th century. Three composers have used rare magic lantern slides from the collection of Michael Zahs as inspiration. The music ranges from Scottish Baroque sonata miniatures to three world premieres by composers Stephen Cohn (Los Angeles), Phillip Wharton (NYC), and Michael Kimber (IA). Don’t be surprised to hear stories and even a bit of poetry reading to accompany some of the finest music.
Those of you who joined us last year when Red Cedar Chamber Music presented The Brinton Silent Film Project will recall a delightful evening at the theatre, including a wine and cheesecake reception in the lobby. We hope you’ll join us again.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased online at www.vintonpalace.org or at the door.
