Entertainment : The Addams Family on VSHS stage November 4,5 and 6

VSHS Homecoming King and Queen David Steele and Hannah Haisman have enjoyed a wild and crazy first trimester, but it hasn't been all parades and tiaras! This royal couple looks forward to tangoing their way into your hearts on the VSHS auditorium stage this weekend. The Addams Family opens Friday night, November 4 at 7 pm, and runs again at 7 pm on Saturday the 5th, and at 2 pm on Sunday the 6th. Tickets are $5 at the door The VSHS Drama Department's fall musical is the crazy, quirky tale of Gomez and Morticia Addams (Steele and Haisman). The Addam's sullen, dramatic teenage daughter Wednesday, played by senior Lindsey Miller, has fallen in love, she thinks, with an outsider, Lucas Beineke (Gabe Schmidt). Wednesday pleads with her parents, and Grandma (Erica Noe), Uncle Fester (Ryan Levis), and brother Pugsley (Colston Neilson) to just be normal when the time comes to meet Mal and Alice, Lucas's parents (Alex Dick and Baylee Bruce). And then the fun begins! The cast also includes Lurch, the Addam's butler, played by senior Jordan Schoettmer, and a chorus of 13 ancestors. The ever organized and efficient assistant director is senior Brittany Grendler. Miss Grendler has attended every rehearsal and assisted directors Marcy and Gerald Horst with everything from rehearsal music to painting set to collecting tee shirt money. Veteran sound tech Rhianna Turner, and lighting newbies Sarah Schminke and Sam Schmidt expertly man the booth for this production. It's Halloween year round at the Addams mansion in Central Park. The VSHS players hope you'll join them for a spooktacular and ghoulish good time.
