Tristan Ingalls admitted to Cornell College

Tristan Ingalls of Van Horne (52346) has been admitted to Cornell College for the 2015-2016 academic year. James Leibold Graduates from Illinois Central College

James R Leibold, of Newhall, IA, graduated from Illinois Central College, East Peoria, with a/an Associate in Applied Science Degree. Nearly 800 students met the graduation requirements for the Summer and Fall 2014 semesters. Started in 1967, ICC is a comprehensive public community college that provides transfer programs for students who intend to pursue a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university as well as career programs for students who plan to gain skills and knowledge to enter a career.

Vinton native joins Shawnee Chamber of Commerce as Communications Coordinator

Meet Zachary Freedom: V-S alum discusses career as singer/song-writer

Zachary Freedom (classmates will remember him as Zach Svoboda) is now a full-time music performer. A decade after graduating from Vinton-Shellsburg, Zach Svoboda has achieved one of his goals: A full time music career. But you may find it hard to find him if you Google that name. Now using the stage name Zachary Freedom, Zach explains why he made the name change. “My name is from my Czech heritage,” says Zach, the son of Mike and Joyce Svoboda of Vinton.

Tanner Heckt Honored for Academic Achievement at Buena Vista University

Ries Earns Degree at St. Cloud State University

St. Cloud State University graduated more than 890 students during fall semester 2014. Commencement ceremonies took place Sunday, December 21, 2014. Among them is Christine Ries of Belle Plaine, with a  Bachelor of Elective Studies, Liberal Studies. SCSU offers more than 15,000 students more than 200 undergraduate and graduate programs in business, education, fine arts and humanities, science and engineering and social sciences.

UNI names area students to Fall 2014 semester Dean's List

The following students were among the students named to the Fall 2014 semester Dean's List at the University of Northern Iowa. To be included on the list, a student must have earned a grade point of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while taking at least 12 hours of graded work during the semester. On the 4.0 system, an A is worth four points; a B, three points; a C, two points, and a D, one point.
