Tristan Ingalls of Van Horne (52346) has been admitted to Cornell College for the 2015-2016 academic year. One of the 40 "Colleges That Change Lives," Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, is a national liberal arts college with a distinctive One Course At A Time curriculum. The One Course schedule provides students the chance to dive into their studies, focus more intensely on the disciplines of their choice, and learn authentically with the unique freedom to shed the confines of the traditional classroom to study off-campus, pursue research, or accept an internship--all without missing out on other classes.

James R Leibold, of Newhall, IA, graduated from Illinois Central College, East Peoria, with a/an Associate in Applied Science Degree. Nearly 800 students met the graduation requirements for the Summer and Fall 2014 semesters. Started in 1967, ICC is a comprehensive public community college that provides transfer programs for students who intend to pursue a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university as well as career programs for students who plan to gain skills and knowledge to enter a career.

Shawnee, KS –The Shawnee Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce and welcome Joyce Lahue Allard as the Communications Coordinator.  Allard will be responsible for the internal and external communications and marketing for the Chamber.  She comes to the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce with an extensive background in communications and marketing.

A decade after graduating from Vinton-Shellsburg, Zach Svoboda has achieved one of his goals: A full time music career. But you may find it hard to find him if you Google that name. Now using the stage name Zachary Freedom, Zach explains why he made the name change. “My name is from my Czech heritage,” says Zach, the son of Mike and Joyce Svoboda of Vinton.

Nine Buena Vista University (BVU) business majors, including Tanner Heckt, a business major with entrepreneurship concentration from Dysart, have been selected for the Clifford A. Rae Academic Achievement Award for the 2014 calendar year. The awards, which range up to $5,000, were created by a $750,000 endowment from the foundations established by Dr.

St. Cloud State University graduated more than 890 students during fall semester 2014. Commencement ceremonies took place Sunday, December 21, 2014. Among them is Christine Ries of Belle Plaine, with a  Bachelor of Elective Studies, Liberal Studies. SCSU offers more than 15,000 students more than 200 undergraduate and graduate programs in business, education, fine arts and humanities, science and engineering and social sciences.

The following students were among the students named to the Fall 2014 semester Dean's List at the University of Northern Iowa. To be included on the list, a student must have earned a grade point of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while taking at least 12 hours of graded work during the semester. On the 4.0 system, an A is worth four points; a B, three points; a C, two points, and a D, one point.
