Name: Billy Gonsler
Hometown: Grand Blanc, MI
Billy Gonsler is serving a second year with NCCC. He served with the Perry Point campus in Maryland in 2011 as a Corps Member of Class 17. This year Billy is serving as a Class 18 Team Leader with the NCCC campus in Vinton. He will lead a team of 10-12 Corps Members over a 10-month period and his team will serve on four to seven service projects throughout the North Central Region.
Billy wants to serve a second year with NCCC because he feels it would be a great opportunity not only to grow personally, but to help his team to grow and provide them an opportunity to learn and have a great service year.
Billy is a hard worker who also enjoys the simple things in life. He believes he is a good listener and truly cares about individuals. He has been doing service work on and off the past three years and has used numerous types of tools and equipment. Billy is open to learning and having fun, but also knows when it is time to get down and dirty.
Billy graduated from Flint Powers Catholic School in 2006 and Saint Thomas Aquinas in 2010 with a Business Administration and a minor in Theology. After NCCC, Billy is considering a couple of options which are teaching Theology for a high school or using his Wild land firefighter experience to go out West to do a season of fire.
