VINTON GARDEN CLUB
March 28, 2012
The Vinton Garden Club member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., C4entral Region, Federated Garden Clubs of Iowa, Inc. and District II met on March 28 in the home of Anne Dake.
The program was given by Ann Harrison on “Beautiful Winter Birds and how to attract them to your feeders.”
After the program President Fran Stueck called the meeting to order. Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Conservation Pledge.
Eight members attended the meeting and answered roll call question with “your favorite winter bird.”
Secretary Joyce Bratten read the minutes from the Jan meeting as she was absent at Feb meeting.
Then she read Feb. minutes. There were no corrections so they stand approved as read.
Fran gave the Treasurer’s report as Connie was absent.

The club received a thank you from Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation for the donation.
Thank you note from Harmoney House for the donation.
Invitation to Decorah Garden Club “Dessert Among the Flowers.”
The club is looking for new members who would like to join.
New Business
Garden Therapy:
Cedar Valley Ranch on Wed. April 11 at 9 a.m. Members are asked to help.
Dates need to be set up for the Preschools Garden Therapy, members are asked to help
Unfinished Business:
District II meeting is on Friday April 27 in Independence, IA. Members signed up to attend.
Reminder of our up coming plant and bake sale which will be held at fairground building on Friday April 20th .from 5:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.
Our next meeting will be a tour of the new Nature Center and then to Fran Stuecks’ home for the meeting.
There was no other business so Fran adjourned the meeting.
