Mark is serving as the Pine 6 NCCC Team Leader at the Vinton Campus. He chose to serve because it will be a once in a lifetime experience that adds a very unique attribute to his medical school applications.
Mark graduated from DeSmet Jesuit High School in May 2007 and the University of Notre Dame in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Science. He would like to start Medical School in fall 2013 after his term of service.
Mark served as the Tom Dooley intern at the Sister Maura Brannick Health Center, a clinic for uninsured resident of South Bend, Indiana. He was responsible for leading student and community volunteers, screening laboratory results, taking vital signs and histories of patients and assisting with daily administrative operations. This experience gave him a good understanding of hardships that various American communities face.
