Name: Gina Mazzulli Hometown: Quincy, Mass. Gina is currently serving as a member of Cedar 5 with the AmeriCorps NCCC at the Vinton Campus. Gina is a former Corps Member at the Charleston Campus. Through her service at the Charleston Campus, Gina gained skills in installing drywall, painting, roofing and trail building. One of the most life changing experiences she encountered as part of the NCCC was providing disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. These experiences made such a lasting impression that she couldn’t pass up another opportunity to serve with the NCCC. Gina graduated from North Quincy High School in 2005. For the past five years she has been working as a nanny. This experience along with previous years working as a pre-school teacher has given her skills in working with a variety of children. She would like to continue working with children either as a nanny or in another capacity after her term of service. Gina also has many hobbies that she partakes in. She has taken many photography classes and workshops as well being a member on a Masters Swim Team. She is hoping to encourage her fellow team members to stay active and keep a healthy lifestyle. Gina and her team are currently serving in Rapid City, S.D. with Black Hills Workshop, developing and facilitating classes for individuals with disabilities. Prior to this project, Cedar 5 was in Henryville, Ind. assisting March 2 Recovery with its Volunteer Reception Center and Cedar Rapids, Iowa working with Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity with the construction of new and rehabilitated homes.
