Name: Zach Brazan
Hometown: Greenville, Miss.
Zach is currently serving as a member of Oak 4 with the AmeriCorps NCCC at the Vinton Campus. Zach joined NCCC, after serving with AmeriCorps State and National. He worked with the Florida State Parks and acquired a variety of trainings and skills including the use of a chainsaw a two ton dump truck, environmental protection and education, community development, disaster relief and technology. He also was trained in prescribed burns and safety. Zach was eager to continue his service and help communities.
Zach graduated from Greenville Weston High School in May 2007 and Mississippi Delta Community College in May 2008 where he studied brick, block and stone masonry. After his term of service, Zach wants to stay up north and find a job.
Zach and his team are currently serving at Camp Echoing Hills in Warsaw, Ohio. The team is doing a variety of maintenance projects to upgrade the camp facilities. Prior to this project, Oak Four was in Des Moines, Iowa doing construction projects for Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. The team also served Spirit of the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in Spearfish, S.D. assisting with educating the public on different animal species and Camp Helen Brachman in Almond, Wis. assisting with camp facilities upkeep.
