by: Rachel Lebeaux Name: Jonathan DiMeo Hometown: Utica, N.Y. Jonathan is currently serving as a member of Cedar 3 with the AmeriCorps NCCC at the Vinton Campus. Jonathan is excited about the opportunity to experience different parts of the country and gain knowledge that he can utilize in the future. Jonathan graduated from Thomas R. Proctor High School in June 2007 and SUNY Albany in May 2011 with a degree in History and a minor in Political Science. In the Fall of 2009 Jonathan spent a semester in Ireland. This experience was one of the best he has ever had and he would like to return one day and learn more. Jonathan has also worked on a variety of political campaigns. After his term of service, Jonathan would like to attend law school. Jonathan and his team are currently serving in Columbus, Ohio with Habitat for Humanity. They are working on new construction projects, ReBuilds, House Lead Assistant programs and construction support. Prior to this project, Cedar 3 was working in Escanaba, Mich. with the UP State Fair. The team was performing facilities maintenance. The team also traveled to Bloomington, Ill. to work with Home Sweet Home Ministries in their Food Bank and shelter and Beatrice, Neb. to work with the National Park Service at Homestead National Monument. They assisted park visitors, removed invasive species and taught students about the historical significance of the Monument. Cedar 3 started out their term of service working with Matthew 25 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa transforming vacant lots into urban gardens. Some fun facts about Jonathan: Q: What is your favorite movie?
