Et cetera : AmeriCorps NCCC Class 20 Corps Member Spotlight: Chanel Gist

Chanel Gist, from Willingboro, New Jersey is serving on team Maple 2 in AmeriCorps NCCC Class 20. She arrived in Vinton on February 11 to start her 10-month service term. Maple 2 is made up of nine people from across the country who will serve together around the Midwest.

Chanel says “I like to help others so me doing a year of service would be great for me.”

Before Chanel joined the NCCC program she was enrolled in Job Corps

Maple 2’s third round project is at Coralville Lake Project, Iowa City, Iowa.

The US Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake partnered with Johnson County Fairgrounds for the Coralville Lake Project. At Johnson County Fairgrounds, Maple 2 will be assisting with facility maintenance. At Coralville Lake the team will be repairing trails through a variety of methods.
