Et cetera : VS FFA members share love of animals at Party in the Park

VS FFA members ran the petting zoo and also helped with set-up and clean-up of PIP events.

On June 25th Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter members woke up early to have a head start on Party in the Park set up. After grabbing the trashcans from the fairgrounds, the FFA members put them out around the Farmers Savings Bank and the court house for the events that were held their later that day.

The next day, Friday the 26th, members moved the trashcans from down town to the park, where they set up the gates for the animals that members brought Saturday for the petting zoo and pony rides.

The petting zoo and pony rides lasted from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, June 27th, at Party in the Park. At the petting zoo, members brought in dogs, cats, bunnies, sheep, goats, and cows. It was a very good turn out, with members helping with the pony rides and community members lining up to ride the horses and pet the animals.

After one of the biggest events in Vinton ended, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA members took back all of the trashcans and gates to the fairgrounds.

All in all, it was a very good time! Everyone had a good time, and the chapter was happy to bring another fun activity to the park for community members to enjoy!
