Between May 2 and June 30 Cedar 1 is serving in Flint, Michigan with Power of One-Fight Against Blight a GRACE ministries affiliate. The city wide blight problem is immediately obvious upon entering Flint, and Cedar 1 is proud to be helping eliminate such a widespread issue.
During the first two weeks, Cedar 1 mowed and cleared 66 vacant and abandon lots of trash, brush, and other debris. Altogether the team disposed of over 1,500 pounds of garbage, helping create a more appealing and safer environment.
“Learning about all the organizations working together to create a more beautiful and prosperous Flint has been really amazing. It’s awesome to see the community pulling together and I think the whole team is excited to be a part of that effort,” says team member Alli Wright.
The Power of One Flight against Blight ministry is a sponsor of GRACE. It was established in 2013 to help better the neighborhoods of Flint, Michigan. Led by Clarence Campbell, their mission is to eliminate blight and to assist in the city’s master plan.
