Today’s spotlight is Erin Hurley who hails from Delaware, OH. Leading Oak 7 this year, Team Leader Erin graduated from The Ohio State University in June of 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in history. Erin brings a love of helping people first and foremost. She also really enjoys getting to know people and loves the mentality and fun that comes from participating in a team setting. Last year, Erin completed a service year as a Corps Member in AmeriCorps NCCC at the Perry Point campus in Maryland.

Q: Where was your first job?

A: I worked as a day care provider at an elementary school in my hometown.

Q: Who is your favorite actor?

A: Martin Sheen

Q: What will be your first words of advice for your team members?

A: Go with the flow.

Q: One place in the world you really, really wish you could visit?

A: I would love to visit Ireland. My family is originally from Ireland, and I would love the opportunity to see such a beautiful country.

Q: What is your favorite candy bar?

A: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Q: Are there any sayings your parents repeated over and over that you can still remember clearly?

A: No.

Q: Who is your favorite author?

A: I have too many to choose.

Q: Could you give us one reason to join AmeriCorps NCCC?

A: AmeriCorps NCCC is one of the only times you can run around the country with one group of people and help not only yourself but also the people whose communities you are in.
