On Monday, May 7th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 4 tables of players. Annie Hopkins won 1st place with 298 points. Bill Milne won 2nd place with 275 points. Frances Kelly won 3rd place with 262 points. After cards, refreshments were served by the card club and HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, May 8th, we celebrated all the May birthdays. Those honored for celebrating May birthdays were Esther Rinderknecht, Mae Wilhelmi, Janis Ferguson, George Caslavka, George Eckhart, and Clair Hepkee. Esther Rinderknecht won the Vinton Value Dollars prize and George Eckhart won a Free Meal. The afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Stuart Gulick.
On Wednesday, May 9th, we welcomed several guests including, Christine Konkner, Wolfgang Stufflebeam, Ernst Konkner and Ruger Stufflebeam. The activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller and June Salerno handpicked the games. Game one was an Outside Picture Frame with Faye Goodell winning. Game two was the Letter “X” with JoAnn Roster, Faye Goodell, and Mae Wilhelmi as the winners. Game three was Three Bingos with JoAnn Roster and Jeanette Blazicek as the winner. Game four was All Around the Free Spot with Jeanette Blazicek winning. JoAnn Roster won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, May 10th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by Phyllis Ebert. Game one was the Letter “X” with Phyllis Ebert winning. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with Faye Goodell winning. Game three was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell winning. Game four was a Picture Frame with Hazel Eastwood and Phyllis Ebert winning. Faye Goodell, Hazel Eastwood, and Marge Goodell won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, May 11th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. There were 4 tables of players. Nellie Cobb won 1st place with 3,290 points. Merle Roths won 2nd place with 3,000 points. Frances Kelly won 3rd place with 2,390 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club and beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Monday, May 14th, there were 3 tables of Pepper Cards played. Don Burmeister took 1st place with 287 points. Budd Barr won 2nd place with 263 points. Don Selken won 3rd place with 261 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Game one was a Picnic Table with Faye Goodell winning. Game two was a 12-Pack with Faye Goodell and Jeanette Blazicek winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Faye Goodell winning. Game four was Stair Steps with Jeanette Blazicek winning. Faye Goodell won game five with Blackout.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4thStreet Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
