Editor's Note: This NCCC spotlight is on Hilary Rohlman, one of the AmeriCorps members serving this year from the Vinton campus. From Michigan, Hilary is a member of Oak 3. Name: Hilary Rohlman Hometown: Muskegon, Mich. Hilary is currently serving as a member of Oak 3 with AmeriCorps NCCC at the Vinton Campus. She brings a desire to help people and experience performing community service. Hilary participated in a variety of mission trips, including a trip to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. She met amazing people and it opened her mind to new experiences. Hilary graduated from Mona Shores High School in 2011. After graduating high school, Hilary had a full time job at Strong Industrial Supply where she managed the paperwork and made business calls. She then traveled to Hawaii and worked with the World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. After her term of service, Hilary intends on using her education award to attend college. She and her team are currently serving in Escanaba, Mich. with the Upper Peninsula State Fair. They are tasked with the maintenance and repair of structures including fair exhibits as well as expanding the ORV trail. Before this project, Oak 3 was in Pierre, S.D. working with Lutheran Social Services to rebuild safe and sanitary homes destroyed by the 2011 floods.
