Name: Bonnie Roane

Hometown: Chesapeake, Va.

Bonnie is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Pine 2 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because she wants to lead a life of service and knew that this program would provide her with valuable skills and experiences.

Bonnie graduated from Western Branch High School in 2008 and the College of William and Mary in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in history and anthropology. After her service term ends she hopes to attend graduate school and work in a non-profit organization.

After graduating in May Bonnie spent the summer working as an intern in the Historic Trades Department in Colonial Williamsburg. For her internship she worked with eighteenth century hand tools, making buckets and barrels with the coopers, and explaining about the trade to visitors.
