Et cetera : Five VSHS band members selected for NIEBA Honor Band

These VSHS Band members were selected for the NIEBA Honor Band.

Five students from the Vinton-Shellsburg High School Band were selected for participation in the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters’ Association Honor Band on Saturday, December 1, 2012. These students performed in one of two 124 piece, select ensembles made up of instrumentalists from sixty schools in Northeast Iowa.

The students rehearsed all day on Saturday and presented a concert at the Oelwein High School Gymnasium. The two bands were under the direction of Mr. Russell Kramer from Mason City High School and Dr. Andrew Mast from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.

The following instrumentalists from the Vinton-Shellsburg High School Band were selected for this honor: Claire Andreesen (Alto Saxophone), Caleb Bendull (Tuba), Lexi Hicok (Oboe), Nick Gardner (Tenor Saxophone), and Kendra Peterson
