Name: Andrew Golden

Hometown: Madison, WI

Andrew arrived in Vinton on January 8, 2013 to begin his 11-month service as a Team Leader for NCCC’s Class 19. He will lead a team of 10-12 members on a number of service projects throughout the North Central Region starting mid-March.

Andrew brings several skills to the team leader position. He served as a Corps Member last year in the Southern Region in Vicksburg, Mississippi. That year gave him unique skills and experiences that will help him this year as Team Leader.

“I loved my experience as a Corps Member,” Andrew says. He decided to come back to NCCC because he wanted to “continue serving and lead others in a year of service.” The Team Leader position gave him the perfect outlet for that desire.

When his term of NCCC service is complete, Andrew has a few options he is considering. He hopes to work with non-profit agencies in some capacity. He would also like to attend graduate school, or perhaps follow through with both of these options.

Andrew graduated from James Madison Memorial High School in May of 2007. He graduated the University of Wisconsin in 2011 with Bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Political Science.
