Hometown: Colorado Springs, Colo.

Aimee is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Hickory 2 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because she wanted to experience a new adventure, dive into it wholeheartedly and truly make a difference for others.

Aimee graduated from C.D. Hylton High School in 2011 and attended Pike’s Peak Community College before joining NCCC FEMA Corps. Currently she is considering doing a second term of service in the program after her first one ends. Eventually she would like to work for the federal government.

Aimee spent the summer before her freshman year in Mexico with her grandparents. While there she worked on a farm, learning how to grow and care for crops and grinding corn by hand. She says that this was the most rewarding summer she has experienced as well as the most physical.
