Wartburg to induct 72 into Phi Eta Sigma honor society

The Wartburg College chapter of the Phi Eta Sigma first-year honor society will induct 72 new members Sunday, Oct. 10. Those being honored include: Sara Jorgensen, a elementary education advising preference major from Vinton Nathaniel Woeste, a chemistry advising preference major from Atkins Phi Eta Sigma is the oldest and largest freshman honor society.

Benton SWCD Commissioners announce availability of 2 scholarships

The Benton SWCD Commissioners are announcing that applications are available for two scholarships.  Students are eligible for either of these scholarships if their planned course of study is in any of the fields of agriculture or natural resources.

Area students named to Upper Iowa Dean's List

Upper Iowa University announces the Dean's List for the Summer term 2015. To be honored, a student must have earned a minimum 3.50 grade point average for the semester and be enrolled as a full-time student.

Mount Mercy University recognizes spring graduates

Area farms win ribbons at State Fair Spotted Swine Show

Niehaus and Feldman Genetics of Greene took top honors at the Spotted Swine Show at the 2015 Iowa State Fair by taking home the Grand Champion Boar and Champion Gilt banners along with Premier Exhibitor.

MDA fund-raising: Casey's clerk changing lives, $1 at a time

When the Camp Courageous kids spend their time at camp in 2016, they will be joined by people who have helped make their experience possible. One of those people will be Lauren Phams, a clerk at the Casey's General Store in Vinton.
