  Russ Hupfeld and John Schoettmer are two of the best neighbors a person could ask for. Last spring a big limb fell off the tree in my front yard and John came over, cut and cleaned it up before I got home from work.

Upper Iowa University Announces Fall 2010 Dean's List

  Upper Iowa University names its 2010 Fall Dean's List. To be honored, the undergraduate must have earned a minimum 3.50 GPA for the semester and be enrolled as a full-time student.

  We just had to ask….Sara Stuefen, D.D.S.     The newest dentist in Vinton hates washing big pots and loves a triangle-shaped Swiss candy bar (we Googled it) and says her favorite fast food sandwich is one she used to make.

Wyatt Joseph Shaver joins Vinton Family

Tyler and Cindy Shaver of Vinton became the parents of their first child, a son, Wyatt Joseph Shaver, born November 3, 2010, at 5:35 a.m. at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

More success for VSHS Music Dept: Jazz Band earns Division 1 rating

     The Vinton-Shellsbur Jazz Band went to La Porte City for its first contest of the year, the IHSMA State Jazz Band contest. They received a Division 1 rating.
