Grand Opening of New Wildlife Area September 15

Benton County Conservation would like to invite the public to the Grand Opening of the Edna Shane Fen and Wildlife Area located at the 2053 54th St., Mt. Auburn, Iowa. The event will be from 5-7:00 p.m.There will be an Open House, food for purchase by Beast and Bird, samples by Benton County Brewing Company. Proceeds go to the Benton County Conservation Foundation.

Better Together Shoes for Shelter Drive in Progress

Our Shoes for Shelters drive is in full swing and we are still needing nearly 3,000 pairs of new and gently worn shoes to reach our goal! Shout out to Stacy at Grant Wood for setting up this collection bin for us! If anyone else would like to set up a bin at their workplace, we would be so grateful! Shoes can be left at our door or behind our building anytime.

Food Pantry available on the Third Saturday

Things are really tight for families right now. Don't feel bad, everyone is struggling to pay their bills and feed the family. If you need some help making the groceries stretch, there is a food pantry available on the 3rd Saturday of each month.From 10-11 a.m. bring your bags and some help, to carry the goodies home with you! The pantry is available at Wesley United Methodist Church located at 516 2nd Ave.
