So, it's been awhile since Benton County has hosted an Open Coffee Event. Well, that's about to change. We're planning to have Open Coffee at Divine Decadents (109 Pearl Street) in Shellsburg on Wednesday, May 14th from 8am - 9am.
Stop in, grab some coffee, and enjoy whatever conversation arises! We hope to see you there...and bring a friend!
Want more information? Check out the Benton County Creative Corridor Facebook pages below. There is also a little information about what these Open Coffee Events are and how they work.
What is an Open Coffee?
Simply put, it's an opportunity for citizens in a community to get together to discuss topics that can help develop their respective entrepreneurial communities. An open forum to discuss innovation, entrepreneurship, tech, start-ups, job markets, diversity, education, economic development, and so on...the discussion is created by those that attend!
Currently, the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area both host these type of events on a regular basis. Those involved in the 7 county, Kirkwood served region, called "The Creative Corridor," are hoping to expand these events throughout the region to reach out to anyone who would like to discuss new and innovative ideas or improve on already existing opportunities.
Please share this invite with anyone in Benton County (clients, friends, family, small business friends) that you think might be interested!
We will meet at Divine Decadents on Wednesday, May 14th from 8am - 9am. Everyone is welcome to start by grabbing a cup of coffee and then have a seat for a short discussion led by those who attend (everyone will be on their own and can order whatever they want when they get there). Please feel free to invite others and call the Vinton Unlimited office for more information. We'd love to have you join us!
