Vinton-Shellsburg May Choral Night will be presented on Monday, May 19 at 7:00 in the middle school gymnasium. Each of the middle school and high school choirs will be featured. This will be the first performance of the year for the Sixth Grade Chorus and the final performance of the year for the graduating seniors in Concert Choir.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Floor seating and bleacher seating will be available for the audience. Admission is $5. Student activity passes, senior citizen passes and Fine Arts Century Club passes will all be honored.

An entertaining variety of songs will be presented to showcase the accomplishments of each choir. Selections will include choir favorites: “I Believe I Can Fly”, “Homeward Bound”, “Scarborough Fair”, “Rhythm of Life”, “ Nine Hundred Miles”, “In Time of Silver Rain” and “You are the New Day”. Small ensembles will entertain between the large groups singing “Prayer of the Children”, “Magical Kingdom” and “Shine on Me”.

Directors Michala Martin and Lois Martin are proud of the students’ achievements this year and look forward to presenting an enjoyable evening of song for all. Accompanying the groups will be Lori Ferguson and April Ahrenholz. Student instrumentalists will also be adding instrumentation to some of the selections.
