Friday Fish Fry at George G. Lucky Post in Vinton
The George G. Luckey Post 57 will be hosting a Fish Fry on Friday, August 13. Serving will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will run until 7:00 p.m.The menu will include beer batter fish (fried in peanut oil, just an FYI if you have a peanut allergy), baked potato, coleslaw, baked beans and cake for $10.

Traveling Vietnam Wall will stop in Solon
The moving Vietnam Memorial Wall will be making a stop in Solon August 12-16th. Area Veteran Ed Scheffer will be reading the names of all of the Benton County veterans listed on the wall, on Monday the 16th at a ceremony which will begin at 10:00 am.
