'Bus Stop' Coming to Vinton

Submitted by Anthony Bopp Bus Stop will be staged by ACT I may 14-23 at the Palace Theatre in Vinton. The setting is a small bus stop diner outside of Kansas City, where a diverse group of travelers must spend the night together waiting for the roads to be cleared of a snow storm.

FFA Labor Auction next week

The annual Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Labor Auction will take place in the VSHS gym at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8. This will be FFA advisor Duane Fisher's last auction before retiring.

'Royal Brawl' as Rollergirls hold first home contest of 2010

They practice three times each week in Vinton in preparation for their monthly big events: Contests called "bouts." The Cedar Rapids Rollergirls were in Vinton again this week, preparing for a Saturday, April 3 contest.
