The Smith-Geater Post 8884 and Auxiliary will be holding their annual Patriot's Pen Youth Essay Competition. Any Middle school students in grades 6th-8th, from the area, are eligible to enter the contest.

Can Drive in Shellsburg to benefit Canton-Benton-Shellburg Volunteer Fire Dept.

I will be hosting a can drive Saturday, August 1st from 8 am to noon. All empty cans and plastic bottle bags will go to the can shed. All raised funds will be donated to the Canton-Benton-Shellsburg Volunteer Fire Department new fire station fund.
