Thousands of Scouts and volunteers representing the Hawkeye Area Council, Boy Scouts of America will go door-to-door collecting non-perishable food items to assist those in need during the annual Scouting For Food Drive.

The Benton County Historical Society is hosting a traveling, interactive exhibit from August 26-Sept.6 that is free and open to the public (donations of non-perishable items for the Mobile Food Pantry and Benton County Food Pantry will be accepted).

Cub Scout Pack 47 in Vinton is holding their Fall Scouting Night on September 8th @ 6:00 pm at Riverside Park (round shelter).  Join us for fun activities for boys and information about Scouting for parents.

Just eight days from now, cars will be rolling into town for some great outside shopping and street vending, complimented by live music and inflatables downtown for BOOMFEST…locals and visitors alike will be able to experience the wares of vendors from all around eastern IA, all the while being reminded by a certain “Boom Clock” of what is in store for Saturday night!
