Glow Skate night Saturday

The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department wants to invite you to join us out at the Vinton Skate & Activity Center on Saturday, February 1 for our annual Glow Skate Night.

Second registration for baseball/softball set for Feb. 2

A second Registration day for the Vinton Softball and Baseball league will take place Sunday, February 2nd from 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm in the Middle School Gym Sign-up is open to all grades for softball, all 7U and 8U baseball players and 9U-13U players who tried out in the fall and were placed on a USSSA team.

Annual Band Booster Soup Supper tonight

Friday Jan. 17 (tonight) from 5-7 p.m. the Band Boosters along with the Vinton Shellsburg band programs are having their annual soup supper.  Tickets can be purchased from a middle school or high school band student as well as at the door.

IBSSS forum rescheduled for Jan. 22

The Forum/ ICN Meeting scheduled for today January 16, at the Iowa Braille School, has postponed until Wednesday, January 22 due to weather.   As Patrick Clancy plans to retire from his position as Superintendent of both the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Braille and Sight-Saving School later this year, Iowa education officials are seeking input from affected families and citizens as they seek to replace Clancy and choose programs and priorities for the future.
