December 19, 2018 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular adjourned session with Supervisors Primmer, Wiley and Bierschenk present. The meeting was called to order at 11:30 a.m. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Discussion was had regarding the county’s credit card policy and enforcing proper use. There has been interest charges along with other issues tracking down invoices from departments. The Auditor’s office spends time in tracking down and there shouldn’t be finance charges due to things not getting turned in on a timely fashion. There was also talk of having each individual department having their own card, so it will be easier to track purchases. Who is to enforce this policy? It is not clear who is to pay the finance charges if they occur. Bierschenk moved/Wiley seconded: To enter into closed session pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5(1)j. Motion carried at 11:47 a.m. Bierschenk moved/Wiley seconded: To enter back into open session at 12:05 p.m. Motion carried. No action taken. Wiley moved/Bierschenk seconded: To authorize the chair to sign letter to property owner for a proposal to acquire property for a proposed project. This project may receive funding assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the Iowa Watershed Project. Motion carried. Bierschenk moved/Wiley seconded: To adjourn. _______________________________ Rick Primmer, Chairman ATTEST: _________________________________ Hayley Rippel, Benton County Auditor
