A statement from U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley's official website, says "Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is receiving antibiotic infusions at an area hospital to treat an infection. He is in good spirits and will return to work as soon as possible following doctors' orders."

No other information is available at this time. A little over a year ago, Grassley had been hospitalized for hip surgery following a fracture.

Grassley, 90 began his public service in 1959, in the Iowa House of Representatives serving there until 1975 when he won election to the United States House of Representatives. In 1980, he won election to the United States Senate and has served in that seat until the present.

He is currently the top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee through the end of his term in 2028. He has already filed to raise money for a reelection bid.
