Government : All VS School Board incumbents running unopposed for re-election

There will be no changes in the faces of the Vinton-Shellsburg School Board after the Sept. 13 school election.

The four board members who are up for re-election are running unopposed: Megan Rickels, Tim Bird, Angela Hazen and Brenda Bartz. They are the only four who took out papers before the deadline.

This is the first time since the law changed that there are a majority of the seats up for election and they are running for four-year terms. Before the Iowa Legislature changed the law, school board members served for three-year terms.
