Government : Vinton residents to vote on Mayor, three council seats in November

Vinton Mayor John Watson is up for reelection in November, along with three city council members: Lisa Vermedahl (Ward 4), Ron Elwick (Ward 2) and Don Burkey (At-large).

The council members run every four years; the Mayor, every two years.

Anyone interested in seeking any of these office is invited to visit Vinton City Hall to take out nomination papers. The deadline for filing nominating petitions is Sept. 22, for the Nov. 8 election.
