Manufacturers behind these “miracle” products prey on consumers’ desires for easy solu­tions to difficult health issues to pad their bottom line.

Teach Kids to be Food Safe

Place books, bookbags, and sporting equipment on the floor, not on kitchen counters or table where germs could be transferred.

Dental Screening reminder for 9th grader

This is a reminder that all 9th graders are required by the Iowa Department of Public Health to have a Dental Screening.  Please visit your Dentist and have them fill out & sign a Certificate of Dental Screening Form.  Your dentist should have these forms or have your student pick one up in the office.  Forms should be returned to Deb H.

Early Bird hours: VGH clinic to open at 7 a.m. weekdays beginning May 6

Chelsea Peoples, PA,  says she enjoyed her work at Virginia Gay Hospital's clinic in Vinton so much as as a PA student that she decided to make Vinton her first career stop. “I like the town. I like the size,” said Peoples, who has been seeing area patients at the clinic since last August. Now, Peoples and Director of Clinic Operations Dona Morris have announced a new effort to help make health care more accessible and more convenient for local patients.

Occupational therapy (OT) is a treatment approach intended to help people of all ages to participate in everyday life occupations, or activities, by living their lives to its fullest with illness, injury, or disability and with as much independence as possible.
