The Vinton Area Ministerial Association will host Mental Health First Aid Training (MHF) provided by the Abbe Center on Saturday, April 11, 2015. This event will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1206 C Avenue in Vinton.

The MHFA programs teach community members skills on identifying and responding to a person who may be experiencing a mental health issue. This is comparable to learning first aid training for physical health, but instead will focus on mental health. This program is intended for all persons--family members, concerned citizens, and various professionals.

Lunch will not be provided. All may bring their own lunch or go out during the lunch period 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. Space is limited. Register by calling Bethlehem at 319-472-3784, ext. 3.

Abbe is an approved provider for Social Work and Nursing CEU’s and will provide a certificate for 7.5 hours of training.
