Health and Fitness : Substance abuse meeting set for parents of Middle School students

The Benton County Above The Influence Coalition invites parents of Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School students to attend an important conversation on substance use/abuse prevention efforts focused on middle school students.

The meeting begins in the Tilford Elementary cafeteria on Saturday, April 11 at 9 a.m. and will last approximately one hour.

The purpose of this meeting is to engage parental interest in working on substance abuse education and prevention at the middle school level. Topics to be discussed are the development of positive community-level activities for youth, formation of student-led advocacy group and additional strategies to educate and empower middle school students.
