Training opportunity.   The Benton County Sheriff’s Office will host Mental Health First Aid Training on April 19 2019.  The course is open to members of the public as well as all First Responders.

The experiences we have as a child can have a profound impact on us, both positively and negatively. A growing body of research has shown the connection that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have in relation to the development of a wide range of health problems throughout one’s life.

The Iowa Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) 2018 Iowa Youth Survey (IYS) shows in general, underage drinking continues to decline. Alcohol use among Iowa 11th graders was down from 26.
