Court orders property to be cleaned up on A Ave.

A ruling from the Iowa District Court on a nuisance case in Vinton, and the appeal has been denied. The case involves a home located at 615 A Ave. in Vinton under the names of Timothy and Jane Osborn.

Area Kiwanis Club raises funds during the annual Pancake Breakfast

Saturday the Vinton Kiwanis Club held their annual pancake breakfast. Breakfast included pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage. People of all ages enjoyed the pancakes and the chance to catch up with friends and neighbors.

Venega and Assem arrest following Stolen Vehicle recovered

On 3-1-19, at about 4:45 PM, Benton County Deputies made a felony car stop on Pearl St in Shellsburg IA with a reported stolen vehicle.A silver 2005 Chevrolet Impala, reported stolen in Cedar Rapids IA on 3-1-19, had been spotted by its owner and followed to Shellsburg where Deputies located it.
