Tilford Elementary Recognized by the Iowa Department of Education

Tilford Elementary was recognized again today for their outstanding work to become one of the Blue Ribbon Schools.   As part of the recognizion, The Iowa Department of Education Director, Ryan Wise attended an assembly at Tilford Elementary today to present the teachers with a plaque and the school with a flag.

The Benton County Angel Tree has been a staple in the community around Christmas time, and this year is no different.  Lanette Parker, who heads up the effort, plans to help more than 300 families this year.

Kacena Farm Hosts Santa

Kacena Farm has finished up another successful year. For the 3rd year, they have hosted children of all ages as well as Santa himself. Children were able to have popcorn and cookies  while they waited, and parents were able to shop the gift shop while waiting for their child's visit to conclude.
