Many have shared the image accompanying this story as a tribute and memorial to Deputy Ferguson. Benton County Chief Deputy Mike Ferguson, who has also served as a part-time pastor in area churches, passed away suddenly, of natural causes, on Monday.

Tandy leads VS golfers at CR Prairie Invitational

Rachel Tandy led the Vikette golfers with a 37-39-76 when Vinton-Shellsburg traveled to Cedar Rapids for the 18-hole Prairie Invitational. The Vikettes placed fourth in the 10-team meet that inclued many larger schools.
