Participants in Friday's VU/Industrial Park Block Party saw what products the employees at Kerry make from soybeans, and how those products are used in well-known items from the store. Salted soybeans were available to those who wanted to take a package with them.

McDonald's employees handed out slushees and punch cards; IMCA staff members opened their T-shirt trailer to show what racing-related merchandise they offer. Several other representatives from businesses along D Street and Highway 218 participated.

A live band, and several games were part of the festivities. VSHS cheerleaders painted faces, then later posed with Scott Hogan's race car.
