A 20-year-old Garrison man was injured on Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle four miles north of Vinton.

Dustin Lee Sondag was eastbound on 55th Avenue attempting to negotiate a curve on 24th Avenue Drive at around 5:15 p.m., when he lost control of his 2011 Kawasaki EX250 motorcycle in the curve, dumping the motorcycle.

Sondag was transported by North Benton Ambulance with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Assisting at the scene were the Vinton police Department and Vinton Fire Department. The investigation is continuing by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Also -- non-related to the motorcycle losing control -- a car driven by Jessica K. Hill of Waterloo failed to stop for traffic at the scene. Hill's car went down through the ditch and back onto the road way before stopping. Hill, whose 31st birthday was on Saturday, was charged with:

1. Failure to have a valid driver’s license;

2. Failure to maintain control;

3. Failure to prove security against liability accident;

4. Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hill also had outstanding felony warrants out of Dubuque County for four counts of Forgery. She was taken to the Benton County Correctional Facility awaiting transportation to Dubuque County.
