News : Vinton businesses begin shopping season with Christmas Open House Sunday

On Sunday, November 24th, Vinton merchants will host the annual Vinton Open House! This event kicks off the season in Vinton and it’s a great time to find fantastic deals and have a lot of family fun. Once again, we will be joined by Auld’s Lluminous Llama’s from Van Horne. They have been a part of our Open House for a number of years now and families always enjoy the opportunity to pet the llamas and look at the unique products made from their incredibly soft fur.

This day, of course, starts the shopping and great deals even before Black Friday and we invite you to shop around town to get great steals! Some stores are opening as early at 11am and most all of them will be open by Noon! Be sure to join us on 4th Street sometime between 1 and 3pm for an exciting “Holiday Surprise”! This will be something never before seen in Vinton and you won’t want to miss it! We aren’t going to tell you what to expect, but be assured, it’s going to be incredibly fun for everyone!

Of course, I’ll remind everyone to keep your local merchants in mind this Christmas Season! I know it seems easy to stop at a “big box” store after work, but who does that really benefit? Some guy in a sky scraper 500 miles away with gold plated hub caps? Why not keep the money in town where it’s supporting our local students and making sure you don’t have to drive 60 miles round-trip just to get an oil change or buy a new shirt! We have everything you need right here in town and we’re lucky to get the personal service from people who live down the street rather than strangers down the interstate.
