North Eden Willing Workers Met February 2nd
The North Eden Willing Workers 4-H Club (NEWW) met at the Lutheran Home Office house on February 2. Everyone told what their favorite part of the Super bowl was.
Old business that discussed included: We are continuing to collect stuffed animals so if anyone has any they would like to donate, please contact Melissa. The bowling tournament was set for February 16th at Berry Lanes in Vinton. Those who have signed up for the tournament and not paid need to bring $5 for shoe rental and bowling. The juniors will start at 1:00 PM, intermediates and seniors will bowl after. There is a Senior Service Trip scheduled for February 22nd to go to Des Moines and help others. They are doing a can drive as a fundraiser to help pay for the trip. If you have returnable cans or bottles that you want to donate you can contact Lauren Tandy or the Extension office. They are doing a fundraiser at Pizza Ranch on February 12th and will receive a percentage of the sales that evening.
New Business that was discussed includes: The volleyball tournament is scheduled for March 23rd; more information will come via email. Make sure that you are reading the Monday Minutes that are sent out via email for livestock updates and FSQA meetings. If you aren’t getting them please contact the Extension office.
We are going to work on a new service project on February 23rd. We are going to write letters/cards to soldiers and make gift boxes to send. More details will be coming from Melissa/Lauren by email. We received a Thank You card from the Lutheran Home staff regarding the Christmas gifts, singing and decorating for the residents.
Our next meeting is on March 2nd and will start at 5:30 pm at the Lutheran Home Office house. Snacks will be provided by the Kemp and Levis families.
