A fiber arts event united growers of sheep, alpaca and llamas from all over Iowa, as well as those who enjoy using the yarn made from those animals' wool.
The event took place Saturday in the VSHS cafeteria.
Organizer Sue Hart, owner of Sunrise Suris Alpaca Ranch north of Vinton, said one goal of the event is to continue this tradition by teaching young people about it.
About 16 yarn-makers from throughout Iowa set up booths, displaying the variety of yarns and products they make from it.
While most of those in the industry use sheep, llama or alpaca wool for their products, some use more exotic animals like yak or camel.
