Princesses Paige Sears and Emily Schmidt will assist 2010 Benton County Fair Queen Taylor Davis in handing out trophies at livestock shows and other events through the week.

The Queen and Princesses were crowned Thursday night in the traditional ceremony. They were the only three candidates in this year's Queen contest. While Taylor scored the highest among the judges, the other two tied, so both were named princesses.

2009 Queen Macy Krug crowned the new Queen, with the assistance of 2009 Princess Chelsea Schminke.

The young ladies were accompanied to the stage — a flatbed trailer — by their fathers or grandfathers. Macy's father, Dan, used to race at the Benton County Speedway. He led the parade of convertibles around the track while driving his daughter to the ceremony.

In addition to being named a 2010 Princess, Paige also won the grand championship in the Dairy Goat contest earlier on Thursday. Her father, Kevin, accompanied her to the stage, carrying her so she would not have to walk on the dirt track in her high heels.
